Outing time! To the ECP we went. First stop, prawning. Fishing for prawns, probably the word fishing seemed related to just fishes, hence prawns need a new word, so probably prawning was coined from this concept. So I wonder in future would there be crabbing, lobstering, la-la'ing etc...
Jocelyn n Eric, organizers
Ha.. but prawns are soooo hard to get! Seawater ones especially, according to the lao ban. Freshwater ones are easier to hook. No wonder the sea water pond only like have 3 groups trying it while, the freshwater pond have like many many families/couples. It goes by hourly rate. 1 hour goes for $20, 2 hours $25, 3 hours $30. Bait was chicken heart (tiny bits). If you looked closely into the pond water, can spot one or two prawns scurrying around. However, it was quite disturbing to see many dead ones inside as well...
waiting to be released into the prawning pond...
While waiting for Eric to catch some prawns, we girls strolled over to the beach.

We combed the beach and decided to take pictures of the flora...
wasp nest.. so beware when standing below any tree!
hibiscus
flora 2
shrubs (no.. not that TV show...)
some tree with fruits which I found to be interesting
MH says this soft-toy on a tree is more interesting than the fruit...
Finally, around 7pm it's time to head to Jumbo for dinner. Joce made a reservation for 730pm, so we walked there from the prawning area (Carpark C4). We walked and walked.. passed by Turtle signs (D area) like 4 times and still haven't reach... it almost felt like we're in some horror shows where you can't seem to walk out of the maze and everything just sort of repeats....
night view, ships lighted up...
carrying on walking...
As they say, light at the end of the tunnel... for us, it's the neon signs of the restaurant that greeted us after half-hour of walking.
Jumbo Restaurant
However, we have to wait. Even if you have reservation, there's only 1 word: WAIT. So we waited and waited, and while waiting...
took pics of la-lang
took video of wind blowing the la-lang...
Then finally, our table number was called, and still must wait a few mins at the holding area, before they finally lead you to your table...
We were hungry so we ordered lots of food!
salted egg crab, scallop in yam basket, fried baby squids
seafood hor fun, steamed prawns
scallop (tasted great with the watery chili sauce)
baby squids
very crispy!
kailan
salted egg crab
salted egg crab that looked and tasted as crispy as shoft-shell crab (but dun bite too hard into the shell if you dun intend to have your tooth knocked out!)
steamed garlic prawns
seafood horfun (tht thing tht looked like corn, was really sotong)

After dinner, we were stuffed. The price was around $33 per pax as there were 7 of us eating. Enjoyable and was nice meeting up with old classmates (with their respective spouse). Thanks for organizing and thanks SL for the transport, and GA for the nice cakes (something to eat b4 dinner, else all of us would be famished!)

Saizeriya Ristorante E Caffe
Wanted to visit this place for a while, and finally managed to do so yesterday. Noisy place with boisterous kids, ang-mohs and ppl like us. The wait staffs were all foreign (mainly Filipinas and China youngsters).
Food here is Japanese Italian ~ fusion, which my friend says, "Confusion...." Haha! Prices are affordable (below $8) and menu is not that extensive but should still have something for most ppl. Add $2.58++ get free flow of drinks from drinks bar. Coffee, latte, cappucino, orange juice, milo ice, hot tea .... all you can drink!
orange juice
bacon gratin
waiter.. there's a penne in my gratin!
hamburg with pickled vege
But don't pour the brown sauce.. it was way way salty!
potato
sweet corn
see how much we loved the sweet corn!
beef patty, nice n juicy
video of hot baked gratin

Have this impression of super-atas atmosphere when people say ION Orchard? Well, you are not alone but it was kinda fun roving in it. I've only visited Level 1 and the basements. So probably haven't experience any encounter with the 'atas' kind! Hahah
HS wanted to buy make-up so we went to a shop called 'Stage'. SG brand, and they're having promo of buy 1-get-1 free. One product ard $20-$25, so if half-price means abt $12 each. Std price, no?
So since I'm there and the promo sounds like a good bargain, so why not? Bought lip gloss and blusher since the existing ones that I had probably expired liao!
make-up
The basements were more fun! Visited Arinco King, but who can afford cakes for $18 per roll? Saw Adam Chen's burger joint, R Burger... hehe, even saw Adam Chen himself.. though I only caught his back. Then at 9+pm, the mochi stall's Japanese chaps will start calling for customers with $2 (two dollars chant). Their antics was quite cute :P

comex 2009
Finally waited for this day to come... Yup, COMEX 2009 so that I can scout for my replacement PC. Went on the first day, and bumped into DK and his wife. They were looking at Toshiba, while I couldn't decide what I want. So narrowed down the choices to ASUS, Lenovo, Fujitsu and DELL.
Was considering ASUS n81vg or the F series laptop when this morning, saw the K401N model. Obviously I haven't read today's newspaper so didn't know they ran the advert proclaiming this as the 'best value' buy.
Was nearly sold by Lenovo (offered through Courts). The guy was throwing in 2GB DDR3, cooling pad for free. So went to ASUS to take a look at the K401N model since I didn't see it first time round. Fujitsu was attractive because it threw in 3 years warranty and the price is reasonable, but the machine spec nothing to shout about.
Actually until now, I also don't know why I got the ASUS model when nothing extra is thrown in. COMEX second last day leh.. nothing extra. Anyway, bought it liao.

It took an hour or so to activate the windows Vista, and installing asus apps. As you can see, it's up and running, and I'm finally connected once more (that's why so many updates! :P)
