Took bus #76 from YCK bus interchange ('coz I remembered there's a bus from there to East Coast!). It's a double-decker bus, so we chose to sit upstairs. About halfway our journey, we heard someone blew a whistle (peet peet kind).
Then my friend looked worried and said something like, "oh no.. here he is again.." Soon enough, we saw an old man came up to the upper deck. He blew his whistle again, and raised his arms upwards and flashed a smile. Immediately thereafter, a stench hit us. Acrid smell of urine. Oh oh... Our journey will be long, so we decided to escape to lower deck.
I joked and said to my friend that maybe the uncle will come down and sit with us since lower deck has many empty seats. Not amusing because the uncle did come down, and we were half deciding whether to get off the bus and take another one. My friend suggested to wait another 2 more stops. Luckily the uncle decided to get down at the next stop. I think it was quite sad. Doubt the uncle has any family members looking after him...
After that 'adventure', our bus trudge along and reached Parkway Parade. From there, we went to some backlanes, and went down the underpass that connects to East Coast Park.
ECP underpass
after exiting the underpass...
evening lights (at about 615pm)
paths for joggers, cyclist, rollerbladist, walkers etc
of coconut trees, sandy beach, clear blue sky and the sea
a kid making sandcastles, perhaps
I like watching the waves breaking.
Here's what other people are doing.
those dots in the sky are kites...
We didn't venture far as it was close to dinner time. So off we went in search of food! Was supposed to eat crabs, but I had ls after lunch, so better not risk it. We settled on a hongkong cafe fare...
look what i found in the menu ;P
dessert
my lemon coke
lamb chop
claypot beef brisket
Food was ok, but the place was dirty. The seat was like.. tsk tsk tsk!
After dinner, it was dark outside as it was already 745pm.
mini-mini amusement park?
merry-go-round
few stalls selling stuffs like hats, clothings, popcorn etc
Noticed that the park is not that well lit after all... perhaps that is also part of its attraction?
so dark...
not too bad... stil got street lamps
There's a stretch just before the underpass (probably about 100m or so in distance), and that area is pitch black! The street lamps are not working at that stretch. So be careful!
the only source of light was coming from the buildings across the highway, or from cyclist bike...
Short exploration. The end.
