There was this free event going on at the Promontory, so went to take a look. Took the longer route since there's no service between Bukit Batok and JE MRT. Dropped at Raffles Place, and walked.
lots of people, lots of camera, lots of kites
festivities feel
The Promontory does offer a good view of the MBS.
After which, we went to eat at Liang Seah Street to try out one of the newer restaurants there.

beautiful sunday at the esplanade
A friend suggested to catch a performance at the Esplanade, and the only thing going on at 3pm, was the 'Beautiful Sunday' performance series held at the concert hall once a month on a Sunday. It's free, so why not! Hahaa!
Today was lucky, 'coz Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts Orchestra played, and conducted by Volker Hartung with a special appearance on the piano by Filippo Faes.
They played the 'Overture to the Barber of Seville' (Rossini), 'Four Movements from Modern Times' (Chaplin), 'Gold & Silver Waltz' (Lehar), 'Vocalise' (Rachmaninov) and 'Rhapsody in Blue' (Gershwin).
It was nice performance, my very first orchestra in a concert hall! But of course, since it is a free performance, we got a mix of crowd with the usual suspects who brought young children who made some noise, some older folks who rustled their plastic bags or cleared their throat or talked in the hall during the performance. And some who clapped when not time to clap yet. Haha! Commoners, we are.
All in all, the concert was enjoyable and lasted about an hour.
After that, went outside to explore a little.
MBS anyone?
Besides music, visual art is another item being showcased.
After that, saw an interesting character in Marina Square promoting Silkair exotic tourist destination.

2010 E!VA萧亚轩WOW世界巡回演唱会
Was at the Singapore Indoor Stadium yesterday for the concert. Got the balcony seats but not too shabby as it's facing direct and not a side viewed seat...
waiting... still early
The show started at about 830pm, so that's about just half hour delay.
stadium lights dimmed, stage lights on!
Elva revealed
The show opened with energetic songs, and it was dancing non-stop. After that, there's a change on stage.
After all the dancing, it was time for a segment of a medley of slow songs.
Amongs the songs sung that night were 最熟悉的陌生人,闪闪惹人爱, 钻石糖, 我要的世界, cappucino, 蔷薇, 地下铁, 爱的主打歌, WOW and many more.
think this was Justin Timberlake's song
some mini pyrotechnics
Elva off the stage to shake hands with fans
asking for encore
After encore, the theme song for the concert ,WOW.
thanking audience and saying byebye
But the sound system for the concert was quite bad. Way too loud and distorted!
