loitering at Central

Yup, went out and loitered. Below are some pics I took on a cloudy day.

outside of the shopping mall

arty-farty merchants of sg

dark clouds looming

Went to check out the basement level of Central. They got this thing called 'The Market' where it's basically a supermarket (Cold Storage kind) and they got eating joints inside there. There's a Western (spaghetti) and Japanese (serving raw and cooked food). The spaghetti cooked on the spot smells really nice. Then today got 1 man peddling this Japanese bread that costs $18.50. That's the price for a loaf. Yeah, 'coz according to him, everything about the bread is imported from Japan and is organic. The name of his shop is 'Buono' or smthg like that. In Taka.

Outside, there are meat joint called 'Fine Cuts' where you can 'pick n grill'. Min. weight 250gms and grilling fee is $8. They also serve set lunches served with a side and a drink. I couldn't decide whether I wanted to eat Western or Japanese, so I ended up eating........ Subway. Ha...

birthday dinners... finale

Final installment of this year's birthday dinners. Had it at Tampopo, Wendy's treat :)
No queue (hehe, good for us!) and we were seated at about 7.40pm. Ordered quite a lot of stuffs and our table ended up almost fully utilized with the dishes covering 80% of the surface.

first few dishes to arrive (that's Wendy at the other end of the table)

crab porridge (yummo~)

salad (eating healthily!)

deep fried sotong (heh, after the healthy, we indulge in oily!)

Wendy's main course, the mentaiko ramen (that orange blob is not tomato, its mentaiko..... and with super salty soup!!!)

of course, the cake! (coffee chiffon)

It was great catching up. Good food, wonderful company ;)
Cheers!

the end is near...

For my PC that is! Problem liao liao... Can't start up windows on its own, it'll just go into an infinite loop of rebooting itself. Probably bios problem I thought, so changed the bios settings and it'll work for a while, then now totally cannot make it. So thought it's windows problem. So reformatted one drive and installed Windows again. And then, same problem. Reboot n reboot until I also sianz...

So now can only work in safe mode. Probably soon, can't even come to safe mode. Sigh... times up I guess...

Sims 3

All Sims fans... hail the new arrival.... Sims 3.... Akan datang.... 2 June 2009.

Well, there's even a launch party at Iluma Bugis for Singapore. Wah... how cool is that? The price is like SGD$72. Heck, they'll even throw in some freebies like 1 sportscar download (this one shld be made free mah...), 1 plumbob (what's the use of this thing btw?? besides free advertisement for Sims 3 and a carabiner... simi lai de??)

Developer's Tour

Official Trailer

The characters are now more lifelike with better manipulations like facial features, body features and colors. Probably all these were made possible due to the new set of tools available for the developers that made development of such feature manipulation tools simpler.

The other thing is the personality traits of the characters which can now include 'clumsy', 'excitable' etc.

But I read the minimum requirements needed for the game I also fainted..

x-men origins: wolverine

Yup, caught the movie today. Hmm... it's smashing to see Hugh Jackman playing Logan/Wolverine again... and yes, I do like this darker side of him. Animalistic and yet, so human. Probably more human than X-Men Last Stand.

Even without the admantium, Sabretooth looked menacing... but the real thrill came from experiment XI (formerly known as the guy with the 2 swords that can deflect all bullets...). He poor thing, no mouth 'coz Stryker didn't like him talking. But he has the powers from so many mutants, besides Wolverine...

But I don't get it leh... if Sabretooth is still alive, then how come he never appear in any of the x-men movies... hmmm..

i see stars...

Christopher Lee, Zheng Ge Ping and Eelyn Kok (Zhen Zhu in Little Nyonya)...

Yupz, they were all in my office building's canteen.. having lunch. Christopher Lee was wearing an air-cond man polo tshirt, so probably they were filming somewhere near and having their lunch break.

Heh, Chris ate from the ban mian stall, Zheng Ge Ping ate chinese rice, Eelyn Kok ordered from the noodles stall I think. Muahaha! And all of them, had to queue up for their food... (SG artists no assistant to buy their lunch ah?)

All 3 of them quite tall. The men seemed to be more aloof and they don't really look at their surroundings much. Eelyn quite friendly because she smiled when we had eye contact. All 3 of them looked much better in real-life than onscreen.

红星大奖

Heh, at least this year the presenters did different stuffs besides telling lame jokes. With birds flying, magic show (not quite..), and what nots... ooooh.. special award for best boobies goes to Chen Mei Feng (Taiwanese actress).

Chen Han Wei, he's quite funny with the ascending to the heavenly altar kind of remarks (twice!). Christopher Lee with references made to his future wife (who looked as though she wished he won't embarrass her any further after he mentioned that he wished to have kids after marriage...). Felicia looked absolutely hideous in her bustier with nettings outfit.

I think all guests were confused as to when does the timer for the speech start as all were running towards the stage. Was alarmed when Lai Yee Ling who's pregnant with baby came a running! Pregnant ladies should walk slowly la!

Rui En got into top 10, which was good 'coz I like her and her 'coolness' in her character. Too bad for Fiona though. Belinda worked hard, so good for her to achieve her due recognition. Kym Ng was overlooked in many areas, including when Zheng Guo Cheng made some remarks about all the hosts except Kym... That Elvin Ng, was quoting from dunno who and stuffs that I think he himself also don't know what was that all about. Haha! Lim Xiang Ping has the best surprised look for the evening, while 张海杰 and Tay Ping Hui shared the same sullen look.

羅志祥 撐腰

The song is catchy and the dance moves are funny and cheeky. Haha! But it probably kinda like the dance stuff that this guy was posting to youtube where he dances at different continents and countries... kinda remind me of that.

jetting off in an airplane~

Muahahaa! Finally sat in an airplane! Yay!
Had the early morning flight and then came back in the evening. Super short flight from SG to KL and vice-versa.

plane taking off... but that's someone else's plane la...mine still stationary waiting for take-off approval

Morning was in MAS Boeing 737 plane and evening in Airbus 330. The Airbus had the inflight entertainment thingy but by the time finish fiddling with it to familiarize with the console.. the plane had landed back in SG already... -_-'

MAS stewardess quite pretty. At least the one on duty today. But she never smile one.. especially when demonstrating the safety stuffs. Still human demo is much more personable than the video presentation onboard of SQ.

sunrise and take-off! vroooom~

The acceleration was just a bit scary only. Was kinda worried that I'll be airsick.. but luckily never la. Just a bit light-headed for a while.

looking down at the puny trees on the ground...

I liked the morning journey better... it's smoother and the view was fantastic!

clouds gathering

call me suaku, call me ulu.. but i think this is such a pretty view!

up up and away....

this one feels like tom cruise top gun movie

blue blue sky, and because it was so peaceful up in the sky.. the plane felt like it was stationary..

cotton wools below!

i like this one.. heavenly~ and nature is soooo beautiful!

this one had a bit of the fish eye effect.. accidentally only

Ok so now return plane back to SG.

Overall, quite an enjoyable first flight!

tampines 1

one word to describe: "Scary"

Can you imagine, there's a queue to go IN to the store? Not a queue to buy stuffs.. but just to get into the store.. heh, not sure whether there were too many ppl or simply the store too small? Uniqlo store can boast of this phenomenon. Amazing... Did I get to go in? Well, do you think I'd queue up for it? Haha, no lor. I thought only youngsters will queue.. apparently I saw one guy with white hair (not the hip white, but old age white) carrying a carrier bag from the store. Hehe, elderly also bought something from there!

Wanted to check out the Manpoku (or isit Manpuko?) Gourmet Town, but imagine that one also need to queue to get IN? Faintz... so ended up I went to basement... that Jeff Wang (王减幅) kiosk selling taiwan street food is there. No queue one. Haha, no Jeff Wang also.
