good food, good company part 1

First stop, Tajimaya Yakiniku @ Vivocity for lunch. Specialty: Charcoal Grill.

white hot charcoal on our table (contact lens users.. keep away!)

The staff who brought our charcoal grill had a wound on his hand that looked like it originated from being scalded by this thing. He said, "Be careful.. it's hot." I replied, "You be careful too!" He smiled.

part of our table decor.. Evian bottled water?

view from where we were seated

We ordered 2 set lunches to be shared by 3 of us. Sashimi set and beef set. Our lunch sets costs between 18++ to 20++ each. The set consists of salad, miso, white rice, and tempura.

salad with nice crunchy greens and cherry tomatoes

pickles

garlic rice

Cathy loves the garlic rice, so Eric and her changed their rice to garlic rice. I chose white rice, 'coz I don't want garlic breath for dinner! Haha

i'm sure it tasted pretty good with all those garlic crisps in it!

quite happy eating the greens

salmon slices

The sashimi looked kinda disappointing 'coz it had just 4 slices of salmon and 2 slices of hamachi. And the hamachi slices were so thin and tiny, that it wasn't worth photographing! Haha, but the salmon was nicely firm and fatty, so much so that Eric liked it!

tempura

the brinjal was crunchy and soft, while the prawns were fresh

But the star, gotta be the beef! Australian they say. I say, let the beef thaw and marinated, and that's when we can grill it to perfection! Wahahaha!

beef!

actually it came in a plate with some assorted vege, but don't u think the previous pic looked nicer? :P heh, someone should've moved that green pepper away as it's distracting!

With good meat, comes great responsibility.. to cook it right! Haha!

But alas, us girls can't really depend on Eric. Look at what he's doing.. busy posing for pictures that he forgot the meat...

Eric! Ay, don't forget to watch the beef!

Oops, I rescued mine quite early so it turned out medium rare.

i know you want this too

juicy, tender chunk of yumz!

master cook at work

look Eric, this is how the experts do it!

After our meal, I insisted on going out in the hot sun, to capture some scenes...

is this postcard worthy?

constructions and more constructions

Bon voyage Eric. May your next career be smooth sailing!
