we are the world

There comes a time
When we heed a certain call
When the world must come together as one
There are people dying
Oh... and it's time to lend a hand to life
The greatest gift of all

We can't go on
Pretending day by day
That someone, somewhere will soon make a change
We are all a part of
God's great big family
And the truth, you know love is all we need

[Chorus]
We are the world
We are the children
We are the ones who make a brighter day
So let's start giving
There's a choice we're making
We're saving our own lives
It's true we'll make a better day
Just you and me

Send them your heart
So they'll know that someone cares
And their lives will be stronger and free
As God has shown us by turning stone to bread
So we all must lend a helping hand

[Chorus]
We are the world
We are the children
We are the ones who make a brighter day
So let's start giving
There's a choice we're making
We're saving our own lives
It's true we'll make a better day
Just you and me

When you're down and out
There seems no hope at all
But if you just believe
There's no way we can fall
Well, well, well, well, let us realize
That a change will only come
When we stand together as one

[Chorus]
We are the world
We are the children
We are the ones who make a brighter day
So let's start giving
There's a choice we're making
We're saving our own lives
It's true we'll make a better day
Just you and me

ok, send send send!

It has been a struggle to get this completed. Working and studying at the same is something I admired in others. No one says its going to be easy, and if time can be turned back, I wished I could've done better! Haha, yeah...

But doing this final assignment is one of the toughest thing. Not sure why, but I think I ran out of steam towards the end... maybe I didn't want it to end? Who knows? Anyway, I told myself that this is it. The final one to describe the entire learning experience to just one lecturer.. it's make or break. And of course, have to submit because it's part of course requirement, and determines whether can graduate or not. So, just do it! The Nike style.

So, we know about scheduling and how it can help people who aren't that motivated to get started.. so same thing I applied on myself (must practice what I preach right?). So every weekday after work, I was supposed to work on the paper for 1-2 hours minimum. And at least 1 headings per night. That got me started, and soon I was typing slowly bit by bit.. but I was also rewriting what I wrote earlier, so after 5 weekdays.. the ending was no where in sight!
Then the usual frustration sets in.. then I found excuses to skip a day or two out of the schedule (but then, I was also really tired after a day of work..)

So on weekends, when I was supposed to spend 2 days on writing... I only managed to utilize one. So finally last weekend, decided that no point dragging this. And also because I was quite 'gan cheong' as deadline was getting near...

Anyways, to cut the story short, I wrote everything down once and for all... and with some help from friends (Mr Hamzah for the writing tips, and Ade for printing it out), the final report was eventually compiled.

homework... i tried...

I've been faithfully trying to do my last assignments.. from Monday till Thursday (about max 2 hours each only before sleeping time), then on Friday I skipped.. (bad student!), then on Saturday managed to do some.. and then today, I slipped out to watch movie and shop with my brother... tsk tsk .. bad bad student!

evidence of me doing homework...

Today finally managed catch "Angels and Demons" at Lido. Didn't know Lido cinema inside is sooooo small! Haha, and the screen.. tiny! And the sound.. also so soft! Anyway, the show was interesting and managed to sustain the pace. The Illuminati makes an interesting topic. Anyway, the movie casting was appropriate.

Then went look look see see around Lido, Tangs and Taka 'coz we wanted to find that Nike duffle that was on 50% off. I remembered it to be Tangs, but turned out it was in Taka. Anyway, my brother didn't get it 'coz it only have in red. The shop ppl said they also have the same model in black, but the black one only 10% off. So strange right? Same thing but red is 50% off while black is 10% off? Strange logic.

Ooh, they're having Barbie exhibition at Taka basement.

barbie but because of the lightings.. looked more chucky than barbie!

guess who? none other than king Elvis

Then, we had dinner at Sushi Tei.

skipjack tuna sushi

Skipjack tuna my brother says tasted like tuna. For me, it's sort of like tasteless.. but still, it's good for us because of its plentiful vitamin B12! But later I googled, wikipedia says it contained 'moderate' amount of mercury contamination... argh! Pregnant woman, beware!

Then on our way back home, it was time for the Transformer meet and greet so snapped a few pics.

weekends special

Clarke Quay and Central is fast becoming my most frequently visited place... (heh, simply because I have a bus service to go back to CCK from Clarke Quay station..)

riverside view in good daylight

was walking along this stretch because I alighted one bus stop tooo early..

taken from the bridge towards Central

Had lunch with Gina at Billy Bombers (1-for-1 special) where you can order from a choice of 3 main courses, and get the lower valued one for free. We had the seafood paradise spaghetti($13+) and fish n chips ($16+).

root beer to go along, but expensive siah @ $5 per bottle.. tsk tsk

gina with her $3.90 refillable coke (not that we refilled any.... who can drink so much coke anyway ?!)

Then we decided to go retro and take some black & white or sepia toned pictures...

gina supposedly doing her own things (but of course everyone can see this is a posed picture...)

old mini tabletop jukebox

Then Florence joined us for tea. But of course after we went round Central looking at the shops... Found a new shop in there... that sell Cosplay costumes. Happening! It's not open for business yet I think but someone was inside trying out the stuffs, probably for the Cosplay gathering that they're having today at the atrium of Central.

After following the girls around looking at shoes and clothes, we had to rest our tired feets. So it's tea time at Azabu Sabo.

And desserts!

florence's pick.. something with everything inside plus lots of jelly!

Florence, looking amused at me snapping her photos

Next, of course, more shopping! We hopped on to Vivocity to squeeze bodies with a few thousand more people there. Ahh.. how I miss the quietness of Central... anyway... We visited National Geographic, looked inside Tangs, poked our noses around in some Forever 21, Crocs... and then, of course, dinner time.

We went to the British pub, Queen & Mangosteen.
