KL Weekend Shopping Getaway Part I

Date: 5 December 2009
From: Concorde Hotel
To: Kuala Lumpur
Via: Luxury Tour and Travels (3D2N Free&Easy)

What? I cannot be tourist in my own country isit? Haha, yalar.. me ulu. KL is not my turf.. seriously!

So, on a Saturday, we started the journey from the Concorde Hotel (prev known as Le Meridien). The bus took off at 8am. So early!

inside the bus

The immigration was quite busy with bus loads of people, mostly fron tour operators. Otherwise, the journey was quite smooth. The only event that happened was someone's husband was still in the washroom when the bus started to continue its journey.

Reached KL around 2pm and wanted to check in to the hotel, but alas.... it was not to be... The recept told us that the rooms are not ready and need to wait an hour. Never encountered such a situation before, so bo bian.. waited. Gave us one complimentary drink. They said they'll come look for us at the lounge area once they're done.

and we waited....

and yet, the room still not ready after 1 hour! And no one came to update us on the status...

getting bored

So, trooped down towards the recept and enquired the status of our rooms. The guy checked the computer a bit, and said, well, 1 room is ready now. 1 room?! What happened to the other room? We need 2 rooms you know? "Sorry, but the other room is still being cleaned." Wah.. what kind of dirty room it is that needs a few hours to clean?! According to my sis, who had a short stint working as a chambermaid in the hotel before.. room cleaning at most will only take half hour. Tsk tsk! Maybe this hotel's chambermaids only haf 2 person to clean all floors.. poor thing!

Anyway, we took the only available room and made sure that the other room is reserved, and proceeded to put our things before setting off to Mid-Valley. Hadn't had lunch yet you know, and it was 3pm when we reached Mid-Valley Megamall. Cab fare (metered) to Mid-Valley from KL (Jln Raja Chulan) was about RM20.

lunch at Madam Kwan's

Was feeling quite famished. Ordered their nasi lemak (RM14.90++), and char kway teow (RM15.40++)to share because we have a dinner date with Waishe.

After lunch, it's shopping time! Well, for the girls. I needed to walk walk to burn off some fats. Muahahaa!

hello, princesses.. waiting for prince charming?

Of course, after we walked n shopped for a while, it's time for a break. So, it's ice cream time!

baskin robbins - what flavour? I forgot! Ooh, something with coffee...

inside has almond bits as well...

it is true! ice cream does make people happy! Haha!

After the break, it was back to more shopping! Nose, Vincci, Adidas, Nike.. watch out, here we come!

Very soon, it was almost 7pm. Had made arrangements with Waishe for dinner around 8pm, so decided to have tea break at Steven's Tea Garden. Sounds class hor, tea garden... but its just an ordinary mamak joint that has teh tarik! At quite a high price too. We had 3 drinks (teh tarik and lime juice!) and it costs like RM15? Faints....

Waishe asked us to wait for her at The Gardens Hotel entrance, so we walked towards that area which is just nearby.

eagerly waiting for Zouk Cafe & Bar to open!

Dinner was at this coffee shop, somewhere far far away... Had butter crabs, salted egg crabs, fried man-tous, fried vege and fried sotong. The crabs had hard shells and firm meat. Really must use the mini hammer to bang onto the shell to crack it open!

After dinner, it was off to the night life! Happening siah! We went to Asian Heritage Row to club. Their website is here.
