Going with Gina, her sis-in-law (Charle's sister) and sil's kids; Lionel and Sheryl.

up up and away

snacks on board, served at ard 930am.. quite nice crunchy crunchy but orange juice abit sour

ANA has onboard entertainment; movies, videos, games, documentary etc. Got hollywood movies, jap movies, one or two canto or mandarin movies and few french/german selection.

Lunch was served a short while after the snacks (like after half hour only!). You can choose just either set A or B. That's all. But the serving is quite a lot since it comprises of bread, main dish (either spaghetti or rice) and a cold dish. For drinks, you can choose to have juice, beer, wine, green tea or soft drinks.

lunch

nice crunchy prawns

tofu cheesecake, very nice!

Then, surprise surprise.. we were served ice-cream at ard 2pm... Haagen Daaz!

strawberry ice-cream, yumz!

Touched down at Narita at ard 5pm Tokyo time. So went to buy tickets for Narita express to get to the metro station in Tokyo, in order to change to Hanzomon line. The ticket costs ard 3300 yen per adult.

Narita Limited Express

The train was very clean and it has compartments for luggages and bags. But we didn't know how to use the lock system. It didn't have many passengers. Tokyo metro station was quite confusing for us first-timers. So many exits and so many train lines...

Finally, reached hotel at around 730pm.

hotel room, with 2 single beds

bathroom, with bathtub!

japanese style toilet (washlets) with bidet and spray function to wash the backside (while you're seated of course.. otherwise, it'll spray out!)

The best thing about Japanese style toilet in the hotel? It has a seat warmer... sooo nice in winter.. ahhh~

coffee, tea and green tea.. and kettle to boil water, and the hotel will change the water everyday.. so thoughtful!

First dinner in Tokyo.. was at the soba shop near the hotel. It's a vending machine style where u pay through the vending machine to select the choice of food that you want.. and it'll output a ticket which u pass to the chef inside the shop. The shop has limited seats and there are tables for u to eat while standing.

my very first meal.. yasai soba (wild vege soba)

After which, we went exploring the area around the hotel.

view along the streets of the hotel

post box

vending machine

There are really many many vending machines in Tokyo. The hotel has it, the streets has it.. EVERYWHERE!

some eatery near the hotel, but we didn't eat there

no smoking sign on the pavement.. there are alot of no smoking signs along the streets in Tokyo

hehe, phone booth.. with bright green phone.. can't resist taking photo in it~!

statue of children at the intersection.. after this intersection is where we'll find MacDonalds and our favourite bento shop

more vending machine.. with advertisement of some sort

hotel vending machine.. selling ciggies!

And that's the first night in Tokyo.
