Bangkok 20th July

On our last day at the hotel, Ade said she want to try the hotel breakfast. So she used her charm and managed to get a breakfast deal for 390 baht per pax. Which is approximately $17.50 per pax.

They have the usual bread counter, asian breakfast where you get porridge, fried noodles, cereals counter, omelette station and juices. Not alot, if you ask me. I wasn't feeling quite right as I had tummy problem the night before, so the appetite was at an all time low. So, I had to eat cautiously...

my breakfast...omelette, fried fish (supposedly Japanese huh?), pork sausages and baked beans (sweet beans!)

The omelette can be the highlight of the meal, as it is made fresh and hot. You can do up the eggs in many ways, just need to request from the service staff manning the station.

Many guests were seen eating bread and pastries, so I guessed that's their staple. The orange juice runs out by 10am (breakfast ends at 1030am). So sad, 'coz I only drank 1 glass.

was this Adeline's or Jasmine's plate? (and this is only round #1)

doesn't this look enticing?

Think I only managed to eat $6 worth of breakfast.... so sad.. *sob*

After breakfast, we rested abit and then continued to do some shopping at Emporium and Naraya.

'The' shopping place to get souvenirs?

street vendor with yummy looking food, but i dare not eat.. curse of the weak stomach!

After shopping, we got stuck in the notoriously famous Bangkok jam? Emporium was less than 20 mins away from hotel, but it took us more than 1 hour to get back via taxi. Our cab driver had to drive into small alleyways to find a route that the car can move! At one point, I even suspected that our cab might end up on five foot ways or something similar that's not meant for vehicles to pass through! Hah!

Reached hotel around 215pm (and our latest checkout time was supposedly at 2pm). So we asked for extension and the hotel front-desk person was kind enough to extend it till 3pm. So nice! We quickly went up to collect our luggage and do last minute wash up.

After that, we deposited our bags with the hotel and went off for another round of Platinum Mall as our cab won't arrive till 630pm as arranged on our day of arrival. Went back to hotel around 5+ and waited for our ride.

As promised, Peter did arrive to pick us up. And our ride to the airport was relaxed although Peter did try to pull our legs by saying that we'll reach airport around 8+pm due to the traffic jam. We reached airport around 725pm, so we had some time for dinner.

After check-in, we explored the airport abit. Saw this immediately after the immigration. Impressive sculpture!

looking for dinner...

Found one shop that sells ramen, so we had our dinner there.

slurping it up!

i'm eating, dun disturb

done.. stop hurrying me!

After that, we had to wait to board the plane. Had some delay.

how much longer?

Of course, eventually we boarded the plane and arrived safely at SG around 1am. Such an unearthly hour! Reached home around 2am and had to be at the office by 9am.

bloated luggage (but still light at 11kg only)

my not so impressive buys...

All in all, it was a nice trip with friends. Thank you girls for the memories.
