pre-christmas gathering

Calling all alumni! Alumni gathering.. silent mob at Royal China to eat dim sum! Hahaha, ya.. dim sum day. But 'coz had a hard time finding that place, decided not to take any pictures of the dim sum. Hmph! Angry siah for having to look for that restaurant in Raffles hotel. Anyway, food was ok. Not too bad. Char siew bao, ee fu noodle, fried squid (how come we ate this for dim sum?!), chicken feet, zhar leong (crispy you tiao wrapped in very thin cheong fun), fried prawn with seaweed and mango sauce, prawn wrapped in yam and salted egg custard bun. Ok, the salted egg custard bun here was better than the peony jade ones.

Then we went to drink coffee at Coffee Club (bcoz starbucks was full! What? Waiting for Hillary to appear again isit?)

hazelnut cappucino served with biscuit and cinnamon stick

Alert! Hazelnut cappucino is actually quite sweet. I only put 1 pack of sugar, it tasted like 2 packs!

water

filled to the brim!

as you can see, i'm quite fascinated by the cinnamon stick, and it does make a good still photo subject

lovely taste

Alumni in action, catching up for lost time:

And had to try to photograph some human portrait...

Still cannot capture good portrait of Flo.. her fierceness is showing through.. or maybe, she just buay song me only.. yea.. I think that's the main reason why she looked not happy when I snap her pics .. oops!

Of course, drink coffee cannot don't eat dessert right? But then, the pictures are not in chronological order, 'coz we were actually served the desserts first! While the coffee took forever to come....

raspberry tart with pistachio

different angle

mango passionfruit tart

The raspberry tart does taste like arnott's tartlets... just different in size :P

Dinner was at Soup Spoon.

beef ghoulash

it has chunky beef inside!

WY's some japanese mushroom soup that has beef shreds and it's very very thick coz of the potato

chicken tikka wrap.. but I haven't eat yet.. it's sitting in my fridge.. was tooo full from the soup

One thing commendable for Soup Spoon staff. Asked one of the wait staff to pack 1 bread (that came with the soup) and 1 chicken tikka wrap separately. And he did. It was placed in 2 separate plastic containers. Well done!
