Hokkaido Fair Apr-May 2011 at Takashimaya

Stumbled upon the fair when I popped over to Taka tonight. Missed the fair when it was at Isetan and then Tampines Mall. No worries, 'coz here it is now!

Since I haven't have my dinner, thought it'd be nice if I just packed back from the fair itself. Oooh, also found the newly launched Japanese baumkuchen (Juchheim brand). Hehehe, so many things to buy! But of course, can't buy all in one day.

So, here was my loot:

stuffed squid with rice (ikameshi) $4.30 (~ 280 yen)

rice

Also bought some croquettes.

croquettes trio kani tarawa, shrimp and scallop (from front to back)

shrimp croquette
crab croquette

The croquette goes for $15 for 3 pieces. That's $5 (~330 yen) per piece of fried mashed potato! WOW! There was only 1 scallop in the scallop croquette, and 1 prawn in the shrimp croquette. The rest are just mashed potato (and mixed with probably cream and butter). I can imagine eating these nicely fried mounds of potato during winter time, hohoho!

Since cherry blossom viewing season, here's something to drink to that. Cheers!

Croquette overdosed. Actually, all the fillings taste about the same since 80% of the time, is just eating the potatoes... and to top it off with stuffed squid with rice.. carbo overload! *burp* 'scuse me!
