good food, good company part 2

Dinner was at Mykii Holland Village. Parking at Holland V can be horrible on Friday nights! Mykii is along the same row as 2am Dessert Bar, and next door to Barcelos.

The decor is mainly white with blue trimmings. Has a clean feel to it. Feels chill out already! Was greeted at the door by the manager who happened to be outside. It'd be nice if he can remember the people who reserved by the name, but nah.. don't expect too much.

Take note that there are things on the online menu that is not available in the restaurant! For example, there's a wine therapy on the drinks menu as well as online, but according to the service staff, this has been discontinued already. Really? Then how come still haven't take out?

So we tried their boutique beers (5 for $45++).

bottled boutique beers

Rose and one other beer that was quite clear in color, were easy to drink. The manager took the effort to explain a little as introduction to these drinks.

Ah Shan is a teetotaller, so she chose mango chill.

mango chill (thick!)

On Mon-Thurs, their set dinner ($18.80++) is quite affordable. Otherwise, on Fridays chef's special, it'll be about $30 including soup and coffee/tea. Most opted for Friday's special which was beef tenderloin in red wine sauce. While 2 girls opted by pan-seared cod. Me, of course took a bite of everything that came by. Haha! Sampler sampler..

haha, gonna eat meat!

where's the food?

why everytime eat, must take pic?

Hehe, we didn't have to wait long for the food.

drumlets with spicy chili sauce (it'll be much better if they use mid-joints instead)

One exotic dish was ordered and it appeared in the form of braised vongole and mussels.

exotic taste

It smells weird, and its soup tasted quite 'asian'. Personally, I felt it tasted like salted vege duck soup. According to the service staff (who went to ask the chef), the ingredients for the soup included white wine, herb (basil if I remember him sayin..) and a chef's special stock. All of us found this tooo exotic!

Service was always with a smile and always efficient. Every now and then, the service staff will come and asked if you'd like something to be taken away!

beef tenderloin, not sure if it's artsy but it sure looked messy with sauces splashed all over! Don't they know you have to clean up the sides of the plates?

the four people who ordered this received varying doneness to the meat although all wanted 'medium'...

To be fair, the meat was tender and juicy, with just a hint of sweetness.

The cod dish was pretty!

served on a bed of mash

yummy tomatoes

This cod fish tasted better than the one at Brewerks! But the best item, gotta be the desserts.

The lava (molten chocolate), was very very enjoyable!

granny smith & aloe vera crumble

nice finale for a meal; the lava (with strawberry bits at the bottom)

satisfying to the last drop...

One thing to note was that the restaurant has quite a clean toilet. Kudos for that!

As the night was still young, we continued our revelry at Breko's cafe for beers (2 for $12)...

hahaha, our maths no good

Mr R: Coward la you
Eric: Wei.. you said it's within 1-99 mah.. i chose 2 cannot ah?
